2008 South River Trap Shoots 

February 9, 2008 Trapshoot

An excellent crowd of 50 dedicated trapshooters came to shoot 300 targets with us.  The wind played some nasty tricks with some of the targets, but scores were still pretty high.  For all results and scores, click on the hyperlink at left

March 8-9, 2008 (Cecil Trammell Memorial)

Unfortunately for all, the weather was atrocious!! Snow blew vertically off and on all morning on Saturday and it was just
miserable.  So much so that the doubles event on Saturday afternoon was cancelled. Scores, again unfortunately, matched the weather conditions!

On Sunday, the wind was much calmer in the morning, but got pretty brisk during the handicap event. Again, scores and turnout matched the conditions.  Between DST changing and the weather, this turned out to be one of the worst attended shoots on record for SRGC in some time.  But Spring is just around the corner and it springs eternal, so.......better luck next time!  For the brutal results and scores, click on the hyperlink at left.

April 12, 2008 (State Shoot Warmup-In Memory of Baxter Vassy)

Well, we are two for two in 2008 for bad weather costing us!  Rain, wind, and cold made for only 29 brave shooters joining us for the State Shoot Warmup Match.  There is not much to say except we appreciate those who came.  For the scores and results, click on the appropriate hyperlink at left.

May 1-4, 2008 (2008 Georgia State Trapshoot)

It was finally time for the 2008 State Trapshoot and it came and went in a hurry!  We were very fortunate to have good weather throughout the Shoot, except for a brief, light rain on Saturday morning.  Scores were very good and everyone praised the clubhouse renovation, grounds, target presentation, and efficiency of the trap machines and Canterbury Voice Releases.  The 2008 Shoot went off without a single hitch!  No trap problems and very few voice release problems.
