The
South River Gun Club (SRGC), Covington, GA, is proud to announce the formation
of the South River Shootists, a new
Single Action Shooting Society (SASS) Affiliated Cowboy Shooting Club. The South
River Shootists is a solely owned subsidiary shooting club of the SRGC, and will
replace the former SASS shooting club that ceased operation at SRGC several
months ago. By this new club being solely owned, it is insured that the SRGC
will always have a SASS affiliated Cowboy Club in operation at SRGC. The overall
day to day operation of the new club has been placed under the responsibility of
experienced SASS Cowboy shooters, all of whom are also members of the SRGC. MATCH
DATES AND TIMES:
The South River Shootists will hold its monthly matches the third Saturday of
each month. Match set up will be conducted the Friday morning prior to the
scheduled match. Shooter registration will begin at 7:30AM the morning of the
match, and will stop at 8:50AM to insure the necessary shooters lists can be
completed. A mandatory meeting and safety briefing will start at 9:00AM, and,
barring any unforeseen delays, match shooting will begin at 9:30AM. In an effort
to speed up the application process, match applications will be available on the
SRGC web site Cowboy Page at SOUTH RIVER GUN CLUB.
The match applications are “fill able” and can be immediately submitted via
the web site to the South River Shootists. If this process is utilized, the
shooter will be pre-registered, and will only have to pay their match fee upon
arrival for the match. SHOOTING
FEES: In
an effort to be fair to those shooters who were members of the former SASS club
at SRGC, all of whom shot at a reduced fee of $15.00, all shooters participating
in a South River Shootists match for the remainder of 2011 will pay a match fee
of $15.00, with the exception of Buckaroos and Buckarettes, those male and
female shooters under age 13, who will shoot free when accompanied by a
parent/guardian. ANNUAL
MEMBERSHIPS: 2012 annual memberships for the South River Shootists will go on sale
beginning at the October 2011, match. After December 2011, those shooters who
are not annual members will pay the standard monthly match fee of $20.00. The
Annual Membership Application, which lists the cost of the various membership
categories, will also be on the SRGC web site at the above direct link. MATCH
SCORING AND RULES:
All monthly and annual matches conducted by the South River Shootists will be
scored by Total Time. All current SASS Rules will govern the conduct of the
South River Shootists matches, and will be enforced. It is recommended that all
shooters become familiar with the most current versions of the SASS Rules, which
can be located at SASS
HANDBOOKS.
In addition to the current SASS Rules, SRGC requires all match shooting
participants and visitors to wear appropriate eye and hearing protection during
actual match shooting. Those visitors who do not have the necessary eye and ear
protection will be directed to the Cowboy Administration building where they
will be loaned the necessary protective equipment. SRGC
welcomes all shooters interested in participating in SASS Matches to shoot with
us at SRGC, the premier gun club in the Metro Atlanta area. |
